James’ Gray

Her eyes are the gray of gloomy winters and cold emptiness. They’re lifeless and dull, the brightness faded away. Even her smile is gone. The endless tears replace her usual joy. Fragile with a broken heart, she is no longer my Elle, but a shadow lingering in silence.

She has many restless nights and sleeps through most of the day. Anytime she plays the piano, the action seems to result in anger. A tender ballad changes to a discordant noise from the banging of black-and-white keys.

Her desolation is frightening, similar to the misery and loneliness of a dark imprisonment. I fight every day to end her sadness yet my efforts are unsuccessful. Her despair is relentless, though I can’t surrender. So I must prove my love and save Elle…

 GRAY

The sadness replays ~ And I feel the dismay ~ But I don’t know what to say ~ You’re running away ~ From me

Don’t you know I’m here ~ What is it you fear ~ When I watch the trail of tears ~ And the anger appears ~ Over me

My promise to you I won’t betray ~ Shine a light for you to find a way ~ Just don’t look into the gray ~ Please don’t turn into your gray

Don’t stray – A ghost that haunts my mind ~ Secrets kept and left behind

Don’t be afraid – Nothing but a fragile soul ~ And nobody there to hold

I won’t go away – Crashing down like a wave ~ No one else but you to save

So I’ll survive another day ~ Of your gray

Didn’t I make it clear ~ How much I want you near ~ I’ll make the pain disappear ~ Asking you to be here ~ For me

My promise to you I won’t betray ~ Shine a light for you to find a way ~ Just don’t look into the gray ~ Please don’t turn into your gray

Don’t ever fade into a gray ~ Cause I’ll never go away ~ Believe me when I say ~ My love for you will stay ~ Please sing the same to me
